At Kings Transport, we believe it’s the people behind the wheel who keep our business moving. Today, we’re proud to introduce Danny, a recent addition to the team who’s already become a valued member of our driver family.
Danny joined us in November 2024, transitioning from a mini-bus driving role that had long, often irregular hours and little time left over for family. “I never saw my wife,” he shares. “I knew I wanted to get into driving full time, properly.”
A Fresh Start in HGV Driving
Danny’s story is one of great timing and even better teamwork. When he contacted us about joining, we helped him secure and fund his Class 2 HGV licence through our training partner, Ace Training.
“The instructor was brilliant,” says Danny. “I absolutely loved it.”
He passed on his first attempt and quickly hit the road, bringing enthusiasm, professionalism, and a genuine love of learning to each and every shift. “Everyone’s been fantastic,” he says of his Kings Group coworker. “It’s a real team – always willing to help and pass on knowledge.”
Life on the Road: Danny’s Day-to-Day Routine
Danny’s schedule typically sees him out the door by 8:30 a.m. and finishing up around 6:30 p.m. But as any seasoned driver knows, no two days in transport are the same. “To be good at this job, you need to understand it’s not straightforward.” Danny explains. “You’re dealing with people and contract specifics. If you think it’s just driving, you’re in the wrong job.”
His attention to detail and big-picture thinking make him a perfect fit for our multi-skilled, customer-focused team, and it’s safe to say that he’s settled in quickly.
Building team culture, one mile at a time
Since day one, Danny has slotted seamlessly into the Kings culture, working closely with experienced team members like Dave, Nigel, and Charlie.
That team-first mentality is at the heart of what makes Kings Transport more than just a logistics provider, helping to foster a culture of inclusion, support, and appreciation towards every single one of our employees.
Off the clock, Danny is focused on setting up his new home and backing his beloved Liverpool FC. Just like on the road, he brings energy, passion, and commitment to everything he does.
