Exciting news – alongside our sub-depot in Basildon, Kings Transport Services Ltd and our associated company, Ningbo London, are expanding to Hangar 2 at North Weald Aerodrome, a much larger indoor space perfect for continuing to grow our operations and delivering logistics services faster, safer, and more efficiently than ever before. This expansion reflects our continued commitment to pushing boundaries and embracing innovation within the industry, allowing us to fully utilise our smart VIGO Cross Docking software to provide unprecedented levels of visibility and goods tracking across all stages of the transportation process. The new indoor location also facilitates direct fleet drive-up, meaning that docking and loading operations can be performed much faster and without any interference or delays as a result of outside conditions like bad weather.
The VIGO Cross Docking technology helps to streamline operations by digitally sorting shipments as they enter, get processed, and then leave the warehouse, organising different goods based on specific criteria to cut down on time spent loading and sorting so that our fleet can get moving quicker than ever before. We can provide full visibility of inbound and outbound goods at every stage of transportation as each load that enters or leaves the hangar must be scanned, logged, and tracked, meaning that our clients can track their deliveries as they move from A to B in real time and identify any issues as soon as they arise. This enhanced traceability reduces errors, speeds up loading and unloading processes, and gives us complete accuracy over pallet movements throughout the supply chain.
Working within a larger, centralised indoor environment means we can make better use of resources, allocate staff more efficiently, and eliminate unnecessary manual handling. The Cross-Dock system further supports this by automating checks, reducing bottlenecks, and enabling smarter planning – all of which contribute to improved service levels and lower operational costs for our clients.
The expansion to Hangar 2 also brings significant health and safety improvements, with vehicles now able to drive directly inside the warehouse, load in a controlled environment, and depart without the risks associated with outdoor handling such as poor weather conditions. This has created a dramatically safer working environment for our team, whilst still maintaining the efficiency and operational excellence upon which our clients depend.

We continue to operate our long-established Basildon sub-depot, which integrates seamlessly with our new, larger facility in Essex. Together, these sites work in perfect harmony to support our operations and maintain efficiency across the region. The Basildon warehouse has been serving customers reliably for many years and continues to deliver the same high standard of service our clients expect.
This expansion represents a major milestone for Kings Transport and Ningbo, reflecting our continued investment in the future of logistics. The combination of expanded warehouse space and advanced VIGO Cross-Dock technology gives us a safer, more scalable, and highly efficient operation, positioning us perfectly for continued growth and allowing us to better serve clients across the UK and beyond.
